PRP has started to be commonly adopted by the medical profession as an alternative to treatment to aid with certain cases. The idea is that a patient’s own blood is used, and the platelets in a centrifuge are removed. When the blood elements are segregated, the patients own plasma is pumped into the wounded region with large amounts of platelets. The Platelet Rich Plasma Injection is suspected to promote healing of diseases such as inflammation, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, knee injuries and stabilisation of weakened tendons.

Platelet Rich Plasma Treatments of one’s own platelets in a nut shell provide features that promote the natural healing process. The healing mechanism produces remarkable effects when large concentrations are set in a particular region.

A significant benefit of this treatment is the low rejection rate, as the platelets belong to the patient being treated. The explanation this is achieved by direct injection is that most of the conditions the therapy addresses are placed in locations of poor blood supply, or at least not adequate to bring the dispersed platelets to the most effective places. As a consequence, they were stated to have slight pain at the injection sites, but the effects of PRP therapy overshadow the minimal distress that may occur.
